The Grammy-award-winning singer Nomcebo Zikode has recently found a new reason to start dancing.

After she had the world moving to her 2019 hit song, Jerusalema, the time has come for Nomcebo to celebrate herself.

This week, the talented vocalist has officially celebrated her 40th birthday.

The singer recently took to Instagram, sharing a gallery of pictures showing off her birthday photoshoot, in honour of the milestone celebration.

She captioned her post: “Not just ageing – I’m upgrading. Level 40 unlocked!”

“Thank you, Lord, for the journey zolo lokhu bengina (just yesterday I was) 15 years time is really flying, I’m really grateful to have lived this long… Happy Birthday to me.”

Meanwhile, she later shared follow-up posts highlighting that the celebrations were far from done as she took in every second to savour the moment.

Despite having been granted another year, she jokingly added that ageing is not something she wants on her bucket list.

“I’m grateful and I want to live longer, but I don’t want to get older. What can I do? I want to be young forever.”

Friends and prominent media personalities later rushed to the comment sections to extend their wishes.

“Happy birthday to you love,” commented renowned fashion designer Gert Johan Coetzee. Also in the comment section was actor Aaron Moloisi who wrote, “Welcome to the 4th Floor my nana. Here’s to vol2 of life full of blessings.”
