Unpacking the slow bloom method

Published

on

Not all stories get off to a spectacular start, and not all forms of success are loud or swift. The slow bloom method is essentially a silent protest against the rush.

It’s the notion that meaningful growth does not happen right away. It’s more like a garden taking root than a race to become who you’re meant to be. I’m still in the process of getting Akhona to realise this and to be so hard on herself.

The goal of the slow bloom method is to do things more purposefully rather than less. It’s patiently showing up in your life, respecting your own pace in the pursuit of success and happiness, even if it differs from the world’s. It’s letting yourself grow without feeling guilty, anxious, or compared to others.

Resting Tree puts it profoundly, stating that the comparison trap can have a detrimental effect on well-being in the digital age by making people feel inadequate and unsatisfied. It may result in a decrease in happiness, negative self-talk, and a skewed view of oneself. To prevent this, it’s important to acknowledge that social media is a highlight reel, concentrate on one’s objectives and values, and celebrate personal accomplishments while also realising that each person’s life path is distinct.

According to The Every Girl, the Slow Bloom Method is an approach to personal development that places a strong emphasis on taking good care of oneself and having faith that development will happen when it’s time. It has a life cycle with distinct stages, much like the life cycle of a flower. The process starts with the intention to plant, then moves on to the seed, where tiny steps are taken to investigate novel possibilities. The Bloom stage introduces confidence and success, while the Bud stage generates momentum.
