Cassper Nyovest weighs in on Amapiano’s dominance

Cassper Nyovest has once again proven why he remains one of South Africa’s most respected voices in music.

The multi-award-winning rapper recently encouraged fans to embrace more than just Amapiano, emphasizing the importance of supporting all genres that contribute to the country’s vibrant soundscape.

The rapper shared his thoughts while promoting his latest collaboration, Sondela, a soulful track by Khosie x Issue featuring Cassper himself alongside the popular band MiCasa.

Released last month, the song has been gradually making waves on digital platforms, earning praise for its fresh sound and musical depth.

In a passionate video shared on social media, Cassper called on his supporters to stream the single and show it some love.

“Please don’t sleep on that song, don’t sleep on that song just like I told you guys not to sleep on ‘Aweh’ by the beautiful talented Lordkez,” he said.

He went on to highlight the importance of diversity in the music industry, urging fans not to limit their attention to one genre.

“I’m telling you, don’t sleep on Khosie x Issue. This song is called ‘Sondela’, please go check it out, please go stream it,” Cassper continued.

While acknowledging Amapiano’s dominance both locally and internationally, he stressed that other sounds also deserve recognition.

“We are offering an alternative to everything that’s going on. Piano is the biggest, the most strongest, you know what I mean, but there’s a space for other sounds, other genres, other artists,” he explained.
