Kylian Mbappe was accused of rape and sexual harassment at a Swedish hotel last week, with local outlets reporting police are investigating him.
The Real Madrid star stayed at the Bank Hotel in the Stockholm city centre when he visited Sweden between Wednesday and Friday last week.
Mbappe visited the Chez Jolie restaurant and V nightclub with his entourage on Thursday – the same day on which the alleged rape occurred.
Swedish newspaper Expressen reported that the victim filed a case with police on the weekend. At the same time, another local paper, Aftonbladet, claimed that the woman “sought care” at a local hospital before forensics visited the crime scene on Monday.
While police have yet to comment on the case, Mbappe did not hesitate to slam the allegations, quickly replying to a now-deleted report.
“Fake News! It’s becoming so predictable, just before the hearing, as if by chance,” Mbappe said on X, commenting on a newspaper article.
The hearing Mbappe referred to is taking place in Paris this week as part of the football star’s fight against former club PSG over £46-million (about R1-billion) in unpaid wages and bonuses.
