In a small community on the edge of the notorious Jukskei River, residents live in constant fear of flooding. The river, known for its deadly history, has claimed many lives in the past.
Shacks have been swept away and people have drowned during heavy rains.
Among those at risk is Angela, a disabled woman who uses crutches to walk. Her shack sits just steps away from the flowing river, putting her in immediate danger if floods occur. Angela says she has nowhere else to go, despite the obvious risks.
In other news, Bafana Bafana beat Congo Brazzaville 5-0 on Friday night in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier with Teboho Mokoena scoring two goals.
Pensioners over the age of 75 will now get R2,210 from SASSA, up R20 from the previous month.
