King Misuzulu kaZwelithini has thanked advocate Zandile Mshololo for helping him become the Zulu king.

He spoke on Sunday during a three-day Seventh-Day Adventist Church service at kwaKhangela Amankengane Royal Palace in Nongoma.

The King said Mshololo made sure he became monarch when his late mother, Queen Mantfombi kaSobhuza Dlamini-Zulu, was drafting her will.

“I am really grateful because there were a lot of people who didn’t want me to be the Zulu king,” he said.

Mshololo fought for the King to take the throne after his mother had first suggested that her youngest son, Prince Simingaye kaZwelithini, should be the next monarch.

Mshololo and King Mswati III persuaded the queen to change her will and name Misuzulu as the rightful heir.

She told the queen it was King Misuzulu’s birthright to be the Zulu king.

The King and his wife, Queen Nomzamo kaMyeni, gave groceries to people in need at the service.

The King also spoke about the importance of prayer and going to church, saying that God’s Word heals and brings peace.

Mshololo is representing one of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder case.
