Makhadzi has apologised to her fans in Bloemfontein after her performance at the Macufe Festival on Saturday, 12 October, was suddenly stopped by DJ Oscar Mbo, leading to a public argument between the two artists.
Makhadzi took to social media, upset that she only performed for 20 minutes.
She suggested that Oscar Mbo’s team cut her set on purpose by removing her USB, calling it part of a PR stunt.
She apologised to Bloemfontein Macufe attendees for only performing for 20 minutes.
“I don’t know if this is all about Oscar Mbo’s PR trend, but why in such crazy moments, when people paid their money to see us?” she wrote.
“Unfortunately, Oscar Mbo’s DJ removed my USB when I was about to finish … awwa bafana raorata, but don’t do that please. PR can be done without hurting others.”
Oscar Mbo denied her claims. He said Makhadzi arrived late and only started her performance at 1.45am, which overlapped with his time slot, leaving him with just ten minutes to perform.
“Yeah ne I am out of words,” said the DJ, accusing her of lying about what happened.
He said the performance times were agreed with the event promoter. He asked her to stop spreading lies.
