Bafana Bafana could book their 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (Afcon) ticket early if they can beat Congo-Brazzaville twice in five days.
Hugo Broos’s team hosts Congo at Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on Friday, then plays them away on Tuesday.
Bafana sit second in Group K with four points, tied with Uganda. Two wins over Congo would secure their Afcon spot.
Broos wants better performances than in their first two games.
“I want to see the real South Africa against Congo; we did not see the real South Africa in our last two games,” he told Safa media.
Congo is third with three points.
Bafana’s Thapelo Morena says they’ve studied their opponents well.
“The coach has given us information about [our] opponents, and we’ve done our debrief, so we know where we need to improve,” Morena said.
Congo’s camp is in chaos. The armed forces briefly closed their football headquarters, which delayed their squad announcement.
