Gospel star Solly Moholo’s final album will be available this Friday, a day before his funeral.
The 65-year-old South African singer, born Solomon Molokoane, died in a Botswana hospital after falling ill following a show.
His son, Moholo, said they will honour his wish to release the album.
“Moholo recorded and completed his last album. To fulfil his final wish, the family will ensure the album is released. We are committed to making sure his legacy lives on,” he said.
Solly’s manager, Gladness Thobakgale, confirmed this.
Moholo was in Botswana to pre-launch his new album, Wubani O Zo Pepeza, when he fell ill.
After a great show, he was rushed to hospital on Sunday. He seemed to be getting better but passed away on 2 October.
A memorial was held on Wednesday, 9 October, at the South African State Theatre.
The funeral is set for Saturday, 12 October, at Akasia Hall in Pretoria, starting at 8am.
