Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns face off at FNB Stadium on Saturday, both looking to keep their strong starts to the PSL season going.
Chiefs have won their first two league games for the first time in five years, beating Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu away.
New coach Nasreddine Nabi is trying to end Chiefs’ long wait for a league title.
“Our first mission is to bring Kaizer Chiefs back to its place in South African football,” Nabi told the media.
“It’s a project. The mission is for us to win, and that will help the team in the future.”
New signings like goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari and midfielder Gaston Sirino have impressed for Chiefs so far.
Sundowns have also bounced back after early struggles, reaching the CAF Champions League group stage and winning their first two league games.
But coach Mnaqoba Mngqithi is cautious.
“I think we should go to this match with a lot of respect and humility. It’s still too early for anyone to start thinking we have found our groove,” he said.
Mngqithi hasn’t picked Bafana stars Teboho Mokoena and Khuliso Mudau recently, while captain Themba Zwane has been used sparingly.
It’s unclear if he’ll stick with his winning team or bring back senior players for this big match.
