KZN news bites: MK and EFF clash over labour desk allegation

Durban – The EFF in KwaZulu-Natal says the MK party’s claim that its labour desk is joining them is false. This comes after the MK party’s Bishop Timothy Ngcobo said he would welcome the EFF’s labour desk to their side.

Pietermaritzburg – Lisa Del Grande has quit the Ingonyama Trust Board. Her appointment last year upset the late Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi because she supported disbanding the trust.

Durban – The DA wants Transport MEC Siboniso Duma to save the Go Durban project. Recent checks show that the project, started in 2013, might not be ready by January 2025 as planned.

Verulam – Bidvest donated a minibus to help the Liv Village orphanage after their minibus was stolen and burned in March. The orphanage was struggling to transport 15 children to events.

Drakensberg – The disaster centre is getting ready for possible snow on Monday and Tuesday next week. MEC Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi said they’ll work with local authorities to prepare.
