Rassie rolls the dice on Libbok

Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus is sticking with Manie Libbok at flyhalf for Saturday’s Rugby Championship final against Argentina.

The Boks need just one point to win their first full tournament since 2009.

“Manie’s general play is fantastic. He brings energy and play-making skills to the backline,” Erasmus said.

“We’re working on a plan to help his goal-kicking.”

Erasmus has made nine changes to the team that lost 29-28 in Argentina last week. Siya Kolisi returns as captain.

Eben Etzebeth will become the most-capped Springbok ever, surpassing Victor Matfield’s record.

“We’re all proud of Eben. We want to make this special for him,” Erasmus said.

Argentina could still win if they secure a bonus-point victory and prevent South Africa from getting any points.

“Argentina believe they can win. They’ve beaten New Zealand at home and crushed Australia,” Erasmus warned. “We’re taking nothing for granted.”

“The Pumas are like South Africans. Their players have overcome challenges to get here. It’s their first shot at the trophy, so they’ll give everything,” he added.

Kick-off is at 5pm on Saturday in Mbombela.
