Msunduzi – KwaZulu-Natal Premier Thami Ntuli has denied claims of xenophobia after calling for people living in South Africa illegally to leave. Ntuli explained that his statement only targets those without proper documents. He warned that he and the provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant-General Nhlanhla Mkhwanazi, will take action to find and remove undocumented people hiding in the province.

Nkandla – The Umkhonto Wesizwe (MK) party has gained a new member, Ntlantla Radebe. He led ActionSA’s youth structures in Umzimkhulu but left to join the Jacob Zuma-led MK party, along with other leaders from different political parties.

Durban – The MEC for Public Works and Infrastructure, Martin Meyer, will visit Durban to address the hijacked Palm Beach Hotel issue. The hotel, located in South Beach, was previously taken over by people claiming to be homeless veterans. They were later evicted, and the building was sealed to stop further illegal occupation and criminal activity.

Mtubatuba – The Umkhanyakude District Municipality has shared good news about the water shortages in Mtubatuba. Recent rain has eased the drought, and the flow of the Umfolozi River has improved, allowing the municipality to increase water supplies for residents.

Durban – The Tertiary Education Union of South Africa has asked Durban University of Technology to stop its restructuring and retrenchments. They are also against changes to staff conditions and pay. Meanwhile, the Nehawu union has called for the removal of Vice-Chancellor Professor Thandwa Mthembu, accusing him of being an “autocratic leader”.
