TikTok content creator and livestreamer Shabbawama 2K recently turned to his online community for help upgrading his studio setup, but what started as a hopeful fundraising effort soon took an unexpected twist.

Known for his vibrant livestreams and uplifting energy, Shabbawama shared a heartfelt appeal across his platforms earlier this week, asking fans to contribute to improving the quality of his content.

“Greetings everyone. My name is Shabbawama2k. I’m a social media influencer and TikTok live streamer,” he said in his post.

“Over time, I’ve been privileged to use my platform to positively impact many lives through my live videos. However, I’ve recently come to realise the quality of my content has not met the standard I aim for. To continue creating meaningful, high-quality content and improve my live stream production, I am kindly reaching out for your support.”

He added that any amount donated would help him acquire proper studio equipment to enhance his production.

The post quickly spread across social media, earning widespread support from fans and other influencers.

Among those who responded was amapiano star Scotts Maphuma, who appeared to offer a generous hand. His response was short but exciting: “Let’s go buy it tomorrow.”

However, the story took a sour turn when Shabbawama later revealed that the musician did not follow through on his promise.

“Scotts Maphuma, who said he was going to cover all the costs, didn’t pick up his phone,” Shabbawama shared in disappointment.

Despite the setback, he expressed gratitude to several notable figures who did support his cause.

According to him, Tyler ICU, Lekau, and Primo all made contributions toward his studio upgrade.
