DJ denies using witchcraft to get rich

Music producer Chymamusique, real name Collen Ntala Mmotla, has denied claims that he’s using witchcraft to get rich.

The Limpopo-born DJ, known for deep house music, was shocked when social media users accused him of using dark magic to get rich quickly.

The allegations started after Chymamusique announced plans to host a braai lunch on 24 September, a public holiday.

He posted on X, saying: “I want to host the biggest braai lunch! Who’s in? Free braai meal from 2pm to 4pm.”

What was meant to be a friendly event quickly turned into something sinister when some people accused him of using the braai as a cover for witchcraft.

One person posted: “Not saying he’s using dark magic, but this is something the people who do that like to do. After eating that ‘free’ braai meat, you’ll face trouble. Nothing in this world is truly free.”

Speaking to TshisaLIVE, Chymamusique said he was disappointed by these claims.

“Nowadays, any sign of success makes people think there’s some secret behind it. But those same people are the first to buy tickets to my men’s conference,” he said.

Chymamusique said the braai event is just a chance for people to network.

“It’s like a men’s conference. We’ll be connecting with professionals from different fields like lawyers, doctors, taxi drivers, DJs, and more. It’s all for a good purpose,” he said.

“Society often tells men not to talk about their struggles, but we want to change that.”

Chymamusique, who will also host a networking session at Hartbeespoort Dam in September, denied any involvement in dark practices.

“It’s hurtful when people label us as part of certain things. I want to assure my fans and family that I am not involved in anything like that.”
