The idea behind gentle parenting is beautiful. Stay calm. Be patient. Validate your child’s emotions.
Offer choices instead of commands. For many, it’s a much-needed shift from harsh discipline or yelling.
But sometimes, what sounds good in books or on parenting blogs doesn’t quite work in the messy, loud, unpredictable world of real family life.
But like any philosophy, gentle parenting isn’t a one-size-fits-all solution. It has its limitations, and in certain situations, it may not work as smoothly as expected.
That doesn’t mean it’s a bad approach—it just means it needs to be applied with nuance and flexibility.
