25-goal PSL star to finally make his Kaizer Chiefs debut

The wait is almost over for Kaizer Chiefs fans! One of their key new signings will soon make his debut for the club.

Last season, the Glamour Boys struggled in front of goal. In fact, Nasreddine Nabi’s side scored a mere 25 goals in 28 league matches!

It was clear the club’s management would need to bolster their attack for the new season. And so they did, signing some serious fire-power!

Now, one of the club’s new signings is nearing his official debut for the club.

Ighodaro nearing Kaizer Chiefs debut

According to the latest official update, Etioso Ighodaro is set to play for Kaizer Chiefs next month.

The Nigerian star joined the Glamour Boys from Mamelodi Sundowns FC ahead of the new season.

Unfortunately for Chiefs though, their new striker arrived at the club injured!

The good news however is that the 24-year-old has returned to individual training.

Kaizer Chiefs ‘co-coach’ Cedric Kaze has confirmed that Ighodaro is set to return to action for the club next month!

“Ighodaro has been injured, but the medical department promised us that he will return from the setback soon,” the Kaizer Chiefs coach told FARPost.

“He has been training with the group without contact. We’re hoping that after the FIFA break, he will be ready to go.”

Ighodaro’s record in South Africa

The Nigerian attacker has 25 goals and four assists to his name in the Premier Soccer League.

He’ll be looking to add to his 97 appearances this season. He’ll be competing for a place at Kaizer Chiefs with Khanyisa Mayo, Wandile Duba, Flavio Silva, Ashley Du Preez, Tashreeq Morris and Luke Baartman.

Ighodaro was on the books of Mamelodi Sundowns for many years. However, he was consistently loaned out to various PSL clubs. In fact, he didn’t make a single appearance for the Brazilians.
