SASCO, contesting under the Progressive Youth Alliance, has won the University of Limpopo’s 2026/27 SRC elections, ending the EFF Student Command’s years-long hold on student government.

🔥 THE NUMBERS:
SASCO/PYA: 6,756
EFFSC: 6,031
WINNING MARGIN: 725 votes

The result marks a dramatic turnaround after EFFSC secured a fourth consecutive term last year, beating SASCO by 8,299 votes to 4,544.

The ANC in Limpopo has welcomed the result, saying it reflects renewed confidence in progressive student leadership.
