The battle for control of South African football has erupted in controversy as Danny Jordaan faces Sandile Zungu at SAFA’s elective congress in Midrand.

Amajuba, Harry Gwala, Sarah Baartman and Pixley ka Seme have allegedly been excluded, reducing the regional voting bloc from 52 to 48. The voting rights of the South African Masters and Legends Football Association have also reportedly been suspended.

Zungu’s camp alleges that structures supporting change are being sidelined, while Jordaan’s allies predict a comfortable victory for the incumbent.

With each region commanding four votes and the presidency decided by secret ballot, public endorsements will now face their ultimate test.

Who should lead SAFA: Danny Jordaan or Sandile Zungu?
