Tyla bags 4 AMA nods

Tyla continues her global rise after securing four nominations at the 2026 American Music Awards.

The Water hitmaker has now set a new record for the most nominations earned by a South African artist in a single year at the AMAs, surpassing her previous tally of two nominations in 2025.

Her latest nods place her firmly among some of the biggest names in the global music industry.

Tyla is nominated for Best Afrobeats Artist, Best Female R&B Artist, Best Music Video for “CHANEL,” and Social Song of the Year, also for “CHANEL.”

In each category, she goes head-to-head with internationally acclaimed stars, further cementing her place on the world stage.

In the Best Afrobeats Artist category, she competes against heavyweights like Burna Boy, Rema, and Wizkid.

Meanwhile, her Best Female R&B Artist nomination sees her alongside top acts including SZA and Summer Walker.

The nominations highlight Tyla’s growing influence, as her sound continues to resonate across borders and audiences worldwide.

The 52nd American Music Awards ceremony is set to take place on Monday, 25 May 2026, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.

The show will be hosted by Queen Latifah and broadcast live on CBS, with streaming available on Paramount+.
