Rea Gopane’s debut album drops today

South African music artist Rea Gopane has officially stepped into a new chapter with the release of his debut album, Reatlegile.

Rather than arriving quietly, the album lands on the back of a rapid rise that has seen Gopane build serious momentum in just a few months.

His breakout single Suka! played a key role in that ascent, introducing listeners to a sound that fuses amapiano’s soulful elements with a more experimental, forward-looking approach.

The track has already made a strong global impression, racking up over 6.5 million streams on Spotify and more than 2.1 million audio streams on YouTube.

Another standout, Nginawe, has also crossed the 3.5 million mark on Spotify, further cementing his growing reach.

Across platforms, the numbers continue to reflect his upward trajectory.

Gopane has climbed to number six on both Apple Music and Spotify charts, while also hitting number 18 on YouTube Music.

At one point, he recorded a personal best of 283,000 streams in a single day on Spotify.

His monthly listenership has now surpassed one million, with his catalogue collectively exceeding 20 million streams worldwide.

The debut album drops today and fans are excited about it.
