Orlando Pirates are set to welcome the return of some key players for this afternoon’s crunch league clash against Mamelodi Sundowns.

The Buccaneers travel to the capital to face arch rivals Masandawana on Saturday afternoon.

In what could prove to be a crucial match in the league title race, Abdeslam Ouaddou’s side have been boosted by the return of three key players.

Orlando Pirates trio could play against Sundowns

The Buccaneers have revealed that both Sihle Nduli and Tshegofatso Mabasa are in line to return to action this afternoon.

Furthermore, Deono Van Rooyen is ready for his big Orlando Pirates return after a lengthy injury spell on the sidelines.

Van Rooyen was on the bench for Tuesday night’s victory. The club have since confirmed that he may be in line for his first playing minutes since August 2025.

“They take the short trip to Tshwane having been recently bolstered by Deano van Rooyen’s return to full fitness, while the likes of Tshegofatso Mabasa and Sihle Nduli could be back in action after playing no part in Tuesday night’s victory,” an official club report read.

Six-point encounter at Loftus

South Africa will come to a standstill on Saturday afternoon when Sundowns host Orlando Pirates.

Action at Loftus Versfeld Stadium is scheduled to begin at 15:30. Both teams will be desperate for a full-three points!

It is indeed a six-pointer! Sundowns head into the clash with a three point lead over the Buccaneers. However, Orlando Pirates have played two games less!
