On Friday, 27 March, the future Queen of eSwatini, Nomcebo LaZuma, posted a collection of photos on her Instagram. Most of them were close-up shots that highlighted just how lethal her face card truly is!
LaZuma, the daughter of the political stalwart Jacob Zuma, is engaged to His Majesty King Mswati III and is living in eSwatini with her new royal family.

The cheerful 23-year-old shared photos from her time at Umkhosi Wemaganu 2026 on Instagram, where she absolutely dazzled in her colourful Siswati traditional attire, coupled with stylish tribal cornrows done by the talented Daz Smith from eSwatini.
A UNION THAT DEFIED ALL THE ODDS
King Mswati III and his young fiancée faced major challenges from the get-go.
A source close to the royal family told Sunday World that the original agreement between the monarch and Jacob Zuma was that LaZuma would be paired with one of the King’s sons.
However, a conflict ensued when Zuma learnt that the King had decided to marry his daughter himself.
“I’ve never seen uNxamalala (Zuma) losing it like that. He tried to hide it, but you could tell that he was angry, he just stood up and said seniyosala niqhubeka bafana bakithi (I won’t be a part of this, you will have to carry on without me, my brothers),” said the source.
“He then left, leaving all of us shocked,” concluded the source.
Another significant drama that the couple endured was the widespread reports that LaZuma was allegedly unhappy with her new life as a royal.
An unnamed source let slip that she left the palace and returned to South Africa, since she spent months without seeing her husband, the King.
“She appears to be frustrated by the royal life and its strict protocols,” began the source.
“Remember that the king has other duties, and at times he is not seen in public and by family for days while performing rituals that have to do with the throne,” continued the source.
“You will also remember that the king is not an ordinary citizen. Before public duty like opening the parliament, he has to go into seclusion,” added the source.
“I think Inkhosikati LaZuma failed to understand that, hence her frustration and decision to leave,” concluded the source.
