Gagasi FM presenter Linda “Mr Magic” Sibiya opened up about the remarkable support he received from colleagues during his hiatus.

Although they may not have been friends, their actions towards Linda instilled hope that someday he would return to radio.

In an episode of Podcast, Radio & Stuff, which aired on Tuesday, 7 April, Linda acknowledged Tshata, DJ Sgqemeza, who’s no longer on Ukhozi FM, the late BK Mchunu, Touch, DJ Sbu, Felix Hlophe, and Alex Mthiyane for their unwavering love and respect.

In an industry where the cancel culture is rife, it was heartwarming to hear of the brotherhood that Linda experienced. Below is a compilation of radio personalities that he holds dear.

LINDA ON DJ SBU, TOUCH, TSHATA, DJ SGQEMEZA, BK MCHUNU…

Tshata and DJ Sgqemeza’s act of brotherhood could have easily cost them their jobs at Ukhozi FM, as they spoke proudly about Linda on air.

“DJ Sbu and Touch they have been there with me,” began Linda.

“Ukhozi FM’s Tshat’godo (Tshata) DJ Sgqemeza, the late BK (Mchunu). Thank you so much. Tshata talked about me on [the] radio, risking his job.”

“Sgqemeza spoke about me. When it was my birthday, he would call me, or if anything was happening, they’d call me,” said Linda.

GAGASI FM’S FELIX HLOPHE AND ALEX MTHIYANE

Felix Hlophe brought his comedic flair to Linda’s show on Ukhozi FM, where he delivered his iconic pranks.

Linda said that he absolutely enjoyed working with him and that Felix was the one who suggested he join Gagasi FM.

“He would call me on Gagasi and tell me how much he loved me. [He said] I want you back on [the] radio. That guy supported me,” said Linda.

“Alex Mthiyane said something powerful [to me], [he said] I don’t care what you’re doing, we still need you on [the] radio. Even if it’s not Gagasi FM, wherever you go, we need you on [the] radio,” added Linda.

GAGASI FM: A PLACE CALLED HOME FOR LINDA SIBIYA

In April 2026, Linda marked his official return to the airwaves on Gagasi FM. The Eshowe-born star clinched two shows: one on weekdays, 5 am-6 am, and another on Sundays, 6 am – 10 am.

Reflecting on his experience thus far, Linda, who was fired from Ukhozi FM in 2014, stated the following:

“The show before breakfast is going to be magical. It is going to be fireworks, and the breakfast show will continue with the magic,” said Linda.
