2.8 million: Kaizer Chiefs make world top 20 for WhatsApp reach

Kaizer Chiefs may be playing catch up to rivals Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates on the Betway Premiership front, but as a brand, Amakhosi are flying high.

The club known as the Phefeni Glamour Boys have made the world’s top 20 clubs with WhatsApp community reach.

KAIZER CHIEFS RANK ABOVE ARGENTINE GIANTS

Accordinng to Global Football Digital Benchmark 2026 report by RESULT Sports, Amakhosi ranked 17th above Argentine powerhouses like Boca Juniors and River Plate.

Egyptian supremos Al Ahly are the only African side above Kaizer Chiefs in 15th place with a 2.8 million reach, while Tanzania’s Young Africans are third African club in 20th position.

WORLD TOP FIVE

At the top of the tree are Spanish giants Real Madrid in first place with a 67.6 million reach, while FC Barcelona are second with 54.7 million.

The English contigent complete the top five: Manchester City (23.6 million), Liverpool (19.3 million) and Manchester United with 17.1 million.

KAIZER CHIEFS DRIVING A STRONG FINISH

A seven-match unbeaten run has lifted Kaizer Chiefs into strong form heading into their next assignment.
The streak began in March with a narrow 1-0 win over Durban City, and since then Chiefs have added further victories against Magesi FC (2-0), Orbit College (3-1), TS Galaxy (2-0), and another 4-1 result over Magesi FC, alongside draws with Polokwane City and Orlando Pirates.

That run has helped Amakhosi climb to third place on the Betway Premiership table, sitting on 47 points from 25 matches under coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze.

Next up, Chiefs turn their attention to domestic duties with a trip to Bloemfontein, where they will face Siwelele FC on Wednesday, 29 April.
