Strong warning sent to Orlando Pirates

Richards Bay host Orlando Pirates at the uMhlathuze Sports Complex this Friday evening. It’s a match that carries different pressure on both sides, with the Sea Robbers chasing the league title and the hosts focused on climbing away from danger and pushing toward a top-half finish.

Bucs arrive in strong form under Moroccan coach Abdeslam Ouaddou, coming off a commanding 5-0 win over Golden Arrows. Their confidence is high, and their attacking rhythm has made them one of the most dangerous teams in the league right now.

Richards Bay, though, have also shown improvement at home. A 2-1 win over Stellenbosch FC in their last outing gave them a boost, especially in front of their supporters where they have been more competitive this season.

RICHARDS BAY FC HOME GROUND CONFIDENCE

Natal Rich Boys co-coach Papi Zothwane believes that home advantage will once again play a big role, especially against a team like Orlando Pirates who are pushing for the title and expected to dominate possession.

“It is going to be a difficult game since they are chasing the league title,” Zothwane told the club’s media department.

“For us, every time we play at home, it is not easy to beat us. “They should not come here thinking they will win easily. It is going to be a tough game, and we will be ready,” Zothwane added.

BUCCANEERS STILL REMAIN THE BIG TEST

The last meeting between the two sides ended in a 2-0 win for Orlando Pirates at Orlando Stadium, a reminder of the gap Pirates can create when they are in control. But this time, Richards Bay will feel the conditions and home support could shift the balance slightly in their favour.

Pirates will still start as favourites, but Zothwane’s side are determined to make the contest far more uncomfortable than the first round meeting.
