The annual Metro FM Music Awards is back, and this year’s edition promises a night of glitz, glamour, and unforgettable performances.

Set to take over Durban on April 25, the ceremony will be broadcast live on SABC 1 and SABC Plus, giving fans a front-row seat to one of South Africa’s most anticipated music events.

Taking charge of the musical direction is Grammy Award-winning producer and performer Zakes Bantwini, whose global experience is expected to bring next-level performances to the stage.

Fans can anticipate high-energy sets and show-stopping collaborations throughout the night.

Hosting duties for the main stage fall to media powerhouse Lerato Kganyago, affectionately known as “Ausi Omotona,” and singer Lawrence Maleka.

Together, the duo promises laughs, style, and moments that will have the audience talking long after the show ends.

Behind the scenes, Metro FM personalities Nomuzi Mabena, popularly known as Moozlie, and Siyabonga Ngwekazi will bring viewers closer to the action from the Green Room, chatting with winners and nominees and keeping the energy buzzing throughout the evening.

On the Black Carpet, DJ queen Lamiez Holworthy and fashion host Zola Mhlongo will showcase the night’s hottest arrivals, highlighting jaw-dropping looks, designer flair, and the celebrity style that always steals the show.

Fans at People’s Park won’t miss a beat, with entertainment icons Somizi Mhlongo and Hope Mbhele keeping the crowd hyped and delivering live reactions as the ceremony unfolds.

With a mix of musical mastery, star power, and behind-the-scenes energy, the 2026 Metro FM Music Awards are shaping up to be a spectacle that promises to celebrate South African music in style.
